Travel nurse industry boomed during pandemic

By KELLY P. KISSEL | Metro editor

Thanks for joining us today for a look at the latest headlines. Here's what's going on:

Travel nurse industry: Today we take a look at the use of "travel nurses" in Louisiana, and how the industry took off during the pandemic. Check out Robert Stewart's story here for the details.

Mall shooting: Police have arrested a man sought in connection with a shooting outside the Mall of Louisiana back in February. The police chief held a news conference to talk about how detectives developed leads that led to the bust. Elyse Carmosino has our story here.

Dead body on display: Last fall, Lea Skene had a series of stories about a Louisiana veteran whose body was dissected in front of paying customers out in Oregon. As part of the fallout from the publicity, an Oregon community intends to clamp down on public autopsies.

Sweet Charity: Theatre Baton Rouge next week will open its production of the musical "Sweet Charity." Robin Miller takes a look and a listen for us.

Big Sports Tonight: The LSU baseball team is back in action tonight in Fayetteville against the University of Arkansas, and the New Orleans Pelicans are trying to advance in the NBA playoffs with a winner-take-all game.

We appreciate you stopping by. Have a great Easter weekend.
