What are the state and federal laws for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD) products? The rapidly changing landscapes of the use of these products has caused confusion about traffic safety related outcomes. TRB will therefore host a webinar on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 2:00-3:30 PM Eastern to provide an overview of the recent changes in the legal status of TCH and CBD products and industry. The known effects of THC on driving performance and crash risk will be discussed and the risk of unknowning exposure to THC in hemp and CBD products will be explained. Attendees will obtain a clearer understanding of CBD products, THC content, the interaction of these substances in the body, and the potential "unintended consequences" of use while driving.
This webinar was organized by the TRB Standing Committee on Impairment in Transportation.
