Rainfall causes shrinking and swelling as it infiltrates expansive soil. TRB will host a webinar on Thursday, April 29, 2021 from 1:00 to 2:30 PM Eastern to clarify this behavior and the related failure of shallow slopes. Presenters will begin with the problems from a state department of transportation perspective, move into the maintenance issues, development of the field instrumentation plan, and continue through the numerical coupled flow deformation analysis. Presenters will also discuss possible solutions.
This webinar was organized by TRBs Standing Technical Committee on Moisture and Temperature Effects on Geomaterials.
Some registrants will need to pay $95 to attend this webinar. Sign into MyTRB.org to view registration information. Webinar agenda and presenters
