The NLRB says McDonald's controls its franchisees to such a degree that the company is liable for labor-law violations by franchisees.

Halliburton says it will cut executive bonuses and some of its contributions to 401(k) retirement plans instead of laying off more workers as the oil and gas industry continues its decline. The company says it will continue reductions in base salaries for senior managers and executives in 2016. Halliburton has cut close to 30% of its workforce since 2014.
