Triple killing in Gentilly. And vax proof rule in New Orleans ends

By Bob Warren

Triple killing: Three people were shot to death overnight in Gentilly, police say. The shooting was reported at 3 a.m. Monday. Here’s the latest. And please check back with NOLA.com for more throughout the day.

The triple killing comes a day after a bartender at Cat’s Meow on Bourbon Street was shot to death. The bartender was hit by a bullet fired by someone on the street outside the popular club, police said.

Vax proof/test mandate ends: Some big news coming out of New Orleans City Hall today as well. The city is relaxing its vaccine-or-show-a-negative COVID test mandate. It marks a “critical and welcome milestone,” Mayor LaToya Cantrell says.

Restaurants, our food guy Ian McNulty reports, are pretty stoked about not having to ask for proof anymore.

Times a changin': Did you get to see Bob Dylan at the Saenger over the weekend? He played a lot of new material, prompting our music guy Keith Spera to pen this cool headline: Tangled up in new. Sweet!

Hope you enjoyed today’s Lunch Line. Thanks for taking a break with us. And of course, be sure to check out NOLA.com for more news throughout the day.
