What is representational painting, you ask? It's painting a story. Still life, landscape, or portrait - the goal is to create something that is powerfully evocative to bring the viewer joy, serenity or energy, and if we're lucky, awe. Representational painting is not copying, though the objects are clearly recognizable. It's an interpretation of what we see. It is accessible to everyone - no explanation is needed. I paint from life, creating my own set ups in the studio. I love the tradition of old master painting and enjoy creating the mystery of an object coming out of the shadows into the light. I prefer oil paints for their luminosity and buttery consistency. My work is rich, classic and radiant and will bring joy, serenity and freshness to your home. How did I get into this racket? Allow me to start at the beginning. . . I'm originally from Belgium (yes, I speak French) and now live in picturesque, leafy Ridgefield, Connecticut. I would say the overarching theme in my work is the sensuality and delicacy of nature. I feel honored when someone buys a painting of mine. In fact, I remember every single collector and consider them a friend. FASO Loves Yuehua He’s oil paintings! See More of Yuehua He’s art by clicking here.
