Truly CA: Our State Has a Story to Tell
Premieres Friday, June 16, at 8pm on KQED 9
From healing through dance to the San Francisco comedy scene of the 1980s, our state has a story to tell. KQED's Emmy Award–winning documentary series Truly CA kicks off its 12th season tonight — at a new time — with Forever, Chinatown, at 8pm on KQED 9.

Forever, Chinatown tells the story of self-taught artist Frank Wong, whose lifelike miniature models of the San Francisco Chinatown of his youth document the transformation of this historic neighborhood.

Other season highlights include Desert Migration (June 30), a film that deals with the complexities of gay men living with HIV in Palm Springs, and F R E E (July 28), which follows five Oakland teens for one year in a performance arts program.

New episodes of Truly CA air Friday nights at 8pm on KQED 9 through September. Watch films from past seasons any time and select new films from Season 12 one week after TV broadcast on kqed.org/trulyca and youtube.com/trulyca.
