1. LITTLE HELP
Trump Requests $44B for Storm Aid, Far Less Than Expected

The Trump administration said Friday that it is requesting Congress send $44 billion in emergency recovery funds for states and territories affected by recent hurricanes. It’s third aid installment since Category 5 Hurricane Harvey first hit Texas. The aid request falls billions of dollars short of what Texan and Puerto Rican officials had hoped to received for storm recovery, including a $61 billion aid request by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. Congress has already approved $52 billion in aid for hurricanes that hit the Gulf Coast, Florida, Puerto Rico, and other parts of the Caribbean. The White House also said it plans to make additional aid proposals.

2. WHAT DOUBLE STANDARD?
Conway Defends Trump’s Franken Tweets, Silence on Moore

During an appearance on Fox News Friday morning, Kellyanne Conway defended her boss’ decision to tweet about the sexual misconduct allegation against Democratic Sen. Al Franken—while staying silent about the several child molestation charges made against Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore. Asked by Fox’s Sandra Smith if President Trump was employing any sort of double standard in his tweets, Conway replied, “Al Franken was a brand new news story yesterday, and the president weighed in as he does on the news of the day often enough.” She then added, “The Roy Moore story is eight days old and the president put out a statement during his Asia trip on that. And since then, our press secretary has spoken on behalf of the president saying that he believes the people of Alabama will sort out what to do with Roy Moore and with that election.” During the Asia trip, Sarah Huckabee Sanders did put out a statement on Trump’s behalf that read, “Like most Americans the president believes we cannot allow a mere allegation, in this case one from many years ago, to destroy a person’s life. However, the president also believes that if these allegations are true, Judge Moore will do the right thing and step aside.” But while Trump has made public statements and issued tweets about a variety of other topics over the past week, he has not said one word about Roy Moore.

3. MEAN GIRLS, OFFICE EDITION
Condé Nast Staff ‘Aghast’ at New Vanity Fair Editor’s Attire

The Vanity Fair fashion staff is apparently not impressed with the style of its incoming editor, Radhika Jones. Condé Nast Artistic Director Anna Wintour reportedly glared at Jones’ tights, which were covered with illustrated cartoon foxes, throughout a staff meeting. One fashion editor told WWD that Jones, the former editorial director of The New York Times books department, “seemed nervous. The outfit was interesting,” adding that her navy shift dress was “iffy” at best. “I’m not sure if I should include a new pair of tights in her welcome basket,” she said. Jones is set to begin her new role on Dec. 11, amid what said to be pressure to slash numerous jobs at the glossy.

Report: TED Talks Grappling With Sexual Harassment Claims

A new exposé from The Washington Post revealed that at least five people, including a previous main stage speaker, told TED officials that they were harassed or groped at the organization's conference in April this year. “We did hear from a small number of women attendees at TED2017 about harassment. As a result, two men were immediately disinvited and won’t be returning,” TED said in a statement to the paper. In one of the email exchanges reviewed by the Post, a long-time attendee allegedly complained of sexual harassment and decided to leave the conference entirely.

Officials: Iraq Has Recaptured Last Town Held by ISIS

Iraqi forces have recaptured Rawa, the last town still held by ISIS in the country. Iraq’s Joint Operation Command on Friday raised the national flag over the foothold, the command said in a statement. Though pockets of resistance still exist in Iraq, Friday’s development means that ISIS has been defeated in every town and city. The commander in chief of Iraq’s armed forces, Haider Al-Abadi, said in a statement that the “liberation of Rawa district in mere hours reflects the great strength and power of our heroic armed forces and the successful planning for battles.”

7. DON’T ASK, DON’T TELL
Report: Trump Panama Tower ‘Riddled’ With Drug, Mob Money

A Panama City condo high-rise development that carried the Trump Organization’s marketing imprimatur in the late 2000s was “riddled” with drug traffickers and international mafia figures, beset with dubious sales, and became, as one financial-crimes investigator called it, a “a vehicle for money laundering.” A joint NBC News and Reuters investigation, along with a report issued by anti-corruption watchdog Global Watch, says transactions at the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel and Tower served as a laundering operation for Colombian cartel proceeds and Russian human traffickers, and Trump Organization officials did little if anything to question where the money was coming from. One key broker, Alexandre Henrique Ventura Nogueira—now a fugitive in Europe—told interviewers that President Trump and his adult children were directly involved in the marketing, management, and even the design of the skyscraper, which opened in 2011. Ventura Nogueira said he had at least 10 direct meetings with Ivanka Trump about the sales. Ivanka Trump didn’t respond to requests for comment. The White House referred questions to the Trump Organization, who legal counsel denied involvement in sales: “No one at the Trump Organization, including the Trump family, has any recollection of ever meeting or speaking with this individual.”

9. ‘IT'S A BIRD, IT'S A PLANE...’
Navy Admits Its Fliers Drew Penises Over Washington State

The U.S. Navy admitted Friday that one of its aircrafts drew penises in the sky over Okanogan County in Washington state. “The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value, and we are holding the crew accountable,” said officials with the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island. Federal Aviation Administration officials told KREM 2 that they can’t do anything about the drawings unless the act poses a safety risk, adding that they “cannot police morality.”

Katy Perry Banned From China Before Fashion Show Performance

Katy Perry has been banned from China before she was slated to perform at the upcoming Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in Shanghai, Page Six reported Friday. Though Perry had been initially told that she would be able to enter the country, her visa application was denied after the Chinese government was informed that the singer had worn a dress with sunflowers on it during a 2015 performance in Taiwan. The outfit caused controversy because the anti-China protestors in Taiwan had adopted the sunflower as a symbol of their cause. Perry also waved a Taiwanese flag during the concert. Former One Director singer Harry Styles will instead take her place at the fashion show.
