Credit: Getty Images | Former US President Donald Trump has mere days left to find funds for a $464m (£365m) fraud penalty. His supporters are hoping the stock market will come to his rescue. Mr Trump could add more than $3bn to his net worth by the end of the day following a shareholder vote to merge Trump Media, the company behind the Truth Social platform, and publicly listed company Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC), which has been in the works since 2021. While the terms of the deal wouldn't allow Mr Trump to cash in on his shares for at least six months - unless an exception is made - his stake could be used as collateral for a loan, should a lender be willing to take on this kind of risk. Analysts have warned that DWAC investors, many of whom appear to be Mr Trump's supporters, stand to lose money in their investment.
