trump is not republican or christianHarris’ values and character are significantly more Christian than Trump’s.I am a registered Independent and ex-Christian. The behavior of pro-Trump Christians I’m seeing right now is the very reason I’m an ex-Christian. Even as an ex-Christian, I have always found the story of Jesus beautiful. It’s also one that does not align with Christians that are pro-Trump. What I’ve witnessed over the years is, what seems like, a worshipping of the “leaders” in the church and any candidate in the Republican party. There are no personal faith journeys as individuals. There is no autonomy. Instead, there is a herd mentality of taking “leader’s” words as gospel—similar to those who do not fact-check or research on their own during political campaigns. Harris’ values and character are significantly more Christian than Trump’s. Character matters. Care and concern for the people matter. Lately, I’ve been reading that Trump’s “strength” far exceeds Kamala’s, which validates a vote for him. Trump is not strong. He’s not a Republican. Real strength displays emotional regulation, restraint, fairness, listening, and empathy. It does not name-call, bully, create chaos, force compliance or power, or promote violence. Real strength is a Christian voting for a candidate who best aligns with the values Jesus shared in the New Testament, even if it’s not their registered party.
