| Hello. US President Donald Trump has ordered the declassification of files relating to the assassinations of John F Kennedy, Robert F Kennedy and Martin Luther King Jr, promising that "everything will be revealed". In the Middle East, a BBC investigation has found that mainly civilians were killed in a deadly Israeli airstrike on an apartment block in Lebanon. We also bring you a multi-billion dollar payout over the powerful painkiller OxyContin, the latest from a catastrophic oil spill in the Kerch Strait, and find out why the singer Adele has been accused of thwarting the sale of a "haunted" mansion in England. | |

TOP OF THE AGENDA | Trump orders release of assassination files |
|
| | President John F Kennedy was killed while driving through Dallas in 1963. Credit: Getty Images | Unanswered questions and conspiracy theories have long dogged three of the most consequential assassinations in US history - the murders of former president John F Kennedy, his brother and presidential hopeful Robert F Kennedy, and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. Now, new US President Donald Trump has said that "everything will be revealed" after he ordered officials to make plans to declassify thousands of documents relating to the deaths. That does not make it certain it will happen, however. JFK was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald, a Marine veteran who had defected to the Soviet Union and later returned to the United States. He was found to have acted alone, but opinion polls indicate that most Americans don't believe he did. Some family members of Martin Luther King Jr and Robert F Kennedy – including RFK’s son and Trump’s nominee for health secretary – believe questions remain over their deaths. |

- New detail: The memoir of a former secret service agent, published in 2023, complicates the theory of a single bullet hitting both JFK and Texas Governor John Connally Jr.

BEYOND THE HEADLINES | IDF said bombed apartments were Hezbollah base - but most of dead were civilians |
|
| | | Ashraf persuaded his sister Julia to join him in the family apartment, which he believed was safe from IDF strikes. Credit: BBC | In September, an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building in the sleepy village of Ain El Delb in southern Lebanon, killing 73 people. Israel told the BBC that the building had been a Hezbollah command centre, but our investigation has found that only six of the 68 dead that we have been able to verify were linked to Hezbollah's military wing. The remaining 62 were civilians, 23 of whom were children. |

And finally... in the UK | The prospective sellers of a £6m ($7.4m) mansion in the UK have accused Adele of sabotaging the sale of a house she once lived in, claiming she said it was haunted. According to planning permission documents, the owners have been trying to sell the building for 14 years but the singer "blighted the property by saying it is haunted". Hello from the other side indeed. | |
