Former president Donald Trump just can’t let a bad idea go. On Thursday, while meeting with Republican lawmakers on Capitol Hill, Trump reportedly raised the idea of swapping higher taxes on imports for lower income taxes. It’s a tax scheme that makes little sense from virtually any perspective it is considered.

Americans concerned about the U.S. Supreme Court’s views on abortion may have been confused on Thursday when the court issued a unanimous ruling that maintained access to the abortion drug mifepristone.

Three bad initiatives

The fact that there were over 100,000 drug overdose deaths in the United States last year should sadden, and appall, all Americans.

At-home tests pose the newest threat to the established medical order.

So it’s anybody’s guess who might emerge as the leader in this race, but for sure the campaign no longer shapes up as an all-but guaranteed win for one of the woman candidates.

We are witnessing the success of doing just this in Argentina, a nation which has long struggled with inflation, excessive government spending, and eroding economic stability and prosperity for its people.

It also underscores an increasing role ballot measures may play as a way around the left-leaning policies of the Legislature’s Democratic supermajority.

“This shows our criminal justice system works!”

Ultimately, this is a band-aid on a much more serious problem that demands bipartisan legislation.
