| Hello. President Donald Trump has doubled-down on his threat to businesses, warning them that if they don't make their products in the US, they'll face tariffs worth "trillions of dollars". Meanwhile, his bid to end birthright citizenship has stalled after a judge ruled it was unconstitutional. We've also got the latest on the Oscar nominations and who's in the lead, plus an English test from 1913 that will leave you questioning your command of the language. | |

Credit: EPA | In the first major international speech of his second term, Donald Trump has addressed the World Economic Forum in Davos. The new US president told global political and business leaders, that if they don't make their products in the US, they will face tariffs worth “trillions of dollars”. He added that Canada could avoid this by "becoming a state" of the US. Back in the US, Trump has hit the first major hurdle of this new term, as his plan to end the right to citizenship for children born in the US to parents who are in the country illegally or temporarily - 'birthright' citizenship - has been temporarily blocked by a judge who said the order was "blatantly unconstitutional". |

| The harrowing search for the missing of Gaza | !['My daughter's bones were scattered on the ground' - the harrowing search for the missing of Gaza Haitham al-Homs, a man wearing an orange high-vis item and in protective forensic gear, stands in front of an ambulance in Rafah](https://www.emailimagecdnadz7.com/uw82qexkhl/en_us/images/679287025baf7-1737656066.3755.jpg) | Haitham al-Homs and his team excavate the rubble, searching for remains. Credit: BBC | Palestinian health authorities estimate that more than 46,000 people were killed in Gaza during 15 months of war, with a further 10,000 people missing. Many are believed to be buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israeli strikes. The Israeli government has banned international news organisations from entering Gaza and reporting independently, so we depend on trusted local journalists to record the experiences of people like those who are searching for the missing. Warning: this story contains distressing content. |

| | At the end of every day, Haitham al-Homs, director of Emergency and Ambulance Services for the Civil Defence agency in Rafah, at the southernmost end of the Gaza Strip, updates the list of those found. His team excavates the rubble with care, aware that they are searching for fragments of broken humanity. Often what is recovered is no more than a pile of bones. Israel's high explosive bombs blasted and mangled into pieces many of the dead. The bones and scraps of clothing are placed in white body bags upon which Mr Homs writes the Arabic word "majhoul". It means "unidentified". A resident of Rafah, Osama Saleh, went back to his home after the ceasefire and found a skeleton inside. The skull was fractured. Mr Saleh reckons the body lay there for four to five months. "We are humans with feeling…I can't convey to you how miserable the tragedy is," he says.
