A word from one of ACDIS’ valued trainers!

"I started in CDI in 2007, not knowing what CDI really was, and had little understanding of coding practices or the importance of documentation related to reimbursement and data collection. I was alone, being the only CDI in my facility with the coding staff responsible for my training. There was little information at that time related to the profession of CDI.
 
I remember when I first discovered the ACDIS website and the blog… it was so wonderful to discover an association that consisted of people like me! A professional organization and source of valid, trustworthy direction and guidance related to my daily activities and responsibilities. It was like I found a new best friend!
 
The Association has grown and is now the preeminent source of guidance for CDI professionals. It offers endless educational and networking opportunities for the varied disciplines that work in the role of documentation improvement, to include clinicians (RNs, physicians, and others) and revenue cycle professionals (coders, auditors, HIM professionals).

The varied disciplines that bring their knowledge and experience to the ACDIS family provide for rich discussion, networking, and learning so that we all continue to learn, grow, and expand the influence of CDI. The members of ACDIS and their positive energy are the Association's most valuable component. I love to read the CDI Forum and blog to see how CDI efforts are expanding in influence and impact in the industry.
 
I have been so honored to represent ACDIS as a CDI instructor and through its publications. And as I travel and teach, I find I always learn more from the attendees of our Boot camps and ACDIS members then they could ever learn from me."
