Department of Administration issues Santee Cooper report

The S.C. Department of Administration’s report recommends the management plan put forth by Dominion Energy and the sale bid submitted by NextEra Energy, though the report does not endorse any actions, including a reform plan by Santee Cooper. The General Assembly and the governor will now decide the future of the public utility.

MUSC sets new opening date for children’s hospital

The MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital and Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion is expected to open Feb. 22, after being delayed twice. The facility has passed necessary regulatory inspections, and hospital administration and pediatric care teams have been cleared to occupy the building.

Fire damages former school being renovated by Metanoia

The former Chicora Elementary School in North Charleston being renovated by Metanoia was damaged by a fire over the weekend that began in the auditorium. No injuries were reported in the fire, and an investigation is underway.
