Carnival cruise ship to remain in Charleston through May 11

The Carnival Sunshine will remain in Charleston Harbor through May 11 as Carnival makes plans to extend its pause in operations. The ship has been docked at the Columbus Street Terminal since March 16, when all passengers disembarked after the Sunshine’s latest voyage.

North Charleston asks businesses to cut occupancy rates

The city of North Charleston is asking businesses to reduce its occupancy to ensure appropriate separation during the COVID-19 pandemic. North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey said the city will continue to comply with directions given by the state.

Nexton

Nexton has closed its greeting house and information center, but the community is still open by phone, text message or online chat for people to buy homes. Nexton’s model homes remain open by appointment, and staff has been conducting virtual tours of its homes with potential buyers.
