Friend or foe: Man wrestles shark to free it from capture With much of the country reopening for the summer, beaches have become a top destination for locals and tourists alike. But what happens when a shark appears at a recently opened beach? Well, you wrestle it and set it free, of course! A swimmer at a Delaware beach recently had a close call with what appeared to be a sand tiger shark with a fishing hook in its mouth. But rather than hightail it out of the water, he decided the shark was worth protecting instead. With nothing more than his bare hands, the swimmer grappled the shark as it flailed in the water, got close to its mouth, and pulled the hook out. The shark, rather than confront the swimmer that manhandled it, decided to quickly swim back into the ocean. A “thank you” would have been nice, at least. Despite the danger, there’s plenty of people who’ve tangled with a shark barehanded. Tap or click here to see an incredible clip of a man catching a shark by hand. → |
