Using Google Maps? Turn off this setting

Google Maps makes it easy to travel through new cities and find the best routes to the places you go frequently. It's free to use, of course, but that convenience comes with a price — your privacy. Google keeps track of where you've been, going back years and years. You can stop it with a few clicks.

Tap or click here for the one setting you need to turn off on Google Maps. →

Quick tip of the day

Nobody likes crackly audio or background noise in their video calls. It’s embarrassing and distracting. The Krisp app uses machine learning algorithms to detect excess noise and remove it.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Tap or click here to create an account and download the Krisp app. Follow the installation instructions.
  2. Open Zoom and click Settings.
  3. Open the Audio settings. In the dropdown box, select Krisp for your microphone and Krisp for your speaker.
  4. In the Krisp app, choose the microphone you want to use and the speakers you want to use.

Krisp is compatible with Skype, Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. Look for the preferences or settings menu in your video service, and choose your microphone input and speaker output. If you need more help, Krisp has support for Mac and Windows users here.

Voyager 1: The history of the furthest human-made object from Earth

In 2012, one of the most amazing things to ever happen occurred without a single person nearby. This is when the Voyager 1 spacecraft left our solar system and began its journey through space. AND FINALLY ...

Ever heard of “the “Lamborghini of the sea”? It’s the unofficial title for the Asian Arowana fish. These swimmers are a highly coveted status symbol in China — and you won’t believe how much they sell for. 🐠

Private collectors buy these endangered fish for $10,000 to $300,000 per fish. (It depends on the pedigree.) And the money doesn’t stop there — owners will buy high-security tanks, hire private bodyguards and even give the fish plastic surgery.

That’s right! It costs $60 for a fishy eye lift and $90 for a chin tuck. Here's the wild story behind the world's most expensive pet fish.
