Phew! On weekends when I’m not traveling, which is most weekends, I’m attending birthday parties. Sometimes two a day… it’s crazy!
Yeah – with my 5 year old.
It’s amazing how much we love our kids. How we marvel at the passing of another year. Want to celebrate our greatest blessing. See them play, having fun and being happy. Growing, improving, and hopefully, no longer biting.
I started to wonder, though, why we don’t fuss over ourselves in the same way? I don’t think I’ve been to an adult birthday party since throwing one for my wife’s 40th, years ago. And who ever throws one for themselves?
We do love ourselves, right? Marvel at the passing of our own years? Feel blessed to be alive? Want to play, have fun, and be happy? Are growing, improving and never, ever bite, right? Well, then... why don’t we?
