Happy New Year, dear John!

Oh my gosh, what a year of highs and lows, shock and awe!

As I’ve been learning to roll with the surprises, to disengage and revel in the moment, I had a chance to chat with Crystal, our family dog.

Would you believe she’s remained blissfully unaware of the political turmoil of the world? She refuses to endorse a political party, thinks inflation is what floats pool toys, and wonders incessantly whether the drones are soft and squeaky. Her top priorities have remained:

1. going for a walk
2. playing tug-of-war, and
3. being scratched on her backside!

I tried to explain how much is at stake, but it was futile… smiling is her non-negotiable.

Then… we had a breakthrough: She would continue seeing me as the man she thinks I am (pretty much perfect and not needing to be changed), if I would begin seeing the world in the same way. 🌎❤

I swear she wagged her tail as I read her mind!
