So, I’ve been under the weather lately, with a common cold.
And first thing this morning my daughter rushed into my tired arms asking, “Do you feel better today, Daddy?!”
“Oh Rebecca, thanks for asking, but no, I still feel sick.”
Visibly disappointed, I was really touched, and gave her a big hug.
“Mommy said I can’t stay late at dance if you’re still sick…”
“Oh… uh… I’ll tell her you can stay late today.” And she brightened up with a hug of her own for me that was worth the sting of truth.
We both felt better.
Then I remembered an old adage an Infinite Possibilities member recently posted in our forum, “A parent can only be as happy as their saddest child.” Whoa… I’m beginning to imagine the adventures and joys that lay ahead.
For this month, dear John, I wish you honesty to recognize the truth, strength to make peace with it, and the wisdom to let anyone you love have extra dance time.
Yours in the adventure,
