The 30-year average high temperature for the Twin Cities on Oct. 4 is 65 degrees. The first four days of October have all produced highs in the 70s in the Twin Cities and most of southern Minnesota. So far temperatures are running nine degrees warmer than average in the Twin Cities this month.
However, a respectable cold front will advance into northern Minnesota by Wednesday evening. By Thursday morning, brisk northwest winds will remind us it’s October. Highs will be 20 degrees colder across most of Minnesota Thursday. Get more weather news on Updraft.

A Hennepin County jury in July convicted Jamal Smith of Chicago in the fatal shooting of 56-year-old Jay Boughton along U.S. Highway 169 in Plymouth last year. Boughton, a youth baseball coach, was driving his son home from a baseball game at the time of the shooting.
