Twitter Punishes Donald Trump Jr. for Spreading Covid-19 Misinformation
 

Good morning,

Thanks for your time.

Twitter enforcing what is and isn't allowed on its platform has led to several dust-ups with high profile users. The latest violations: a bout of President Trump's son retweeting misinformation about Covid-19. In turn, for 12 hours, Twitter prevented Donald Trump Jr. from tweeting, retweeting, liking posts and following accounts.

The misinformation spread to his father's account who also re-shared the offending video which gave unfounded benefits of hydroxychloroquine. This sentence may also bring back memories of when The New York Times reminded audiences that bleach is also not a cure, despite what the White House said.

By the way... we have a busy day ahead of us: the CEOs of Facebook, Amazon, Google and Apple will appear as witnesses before the House Judiciary Committee's antitrust subcommittee at noon. Criticism to each platform varies, as Professor Scott Galloway previously detailed, but to show just how convoluted and... dominant these companies are in the ad-tech space, here's an explainer of Google's ad stack.

I'll recap the highlights of the hearing here tomorrow, but follow Scott Nover's Twitter for real time updates in the meantime.
