Good afternoon,

Monday lunchtime is when we round up our main headlines from the weekend.

Intruders risking their lives are suspected of causing the St Joseph's Orphanage blaze which took 10 fire crews to put out.

Contractors hired to demolish five of the abandoned complex's derelict buildings in Preston city centre have ruled out an electrical fault sparking the fire. Demolition work is scheduled to start today.

A second fire in Preston city centre in less that 24 hours saw smoke billowing from the former Odeon Cinema on Church Street.

A fire brigade spokesman said the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Elsewhere, we reported how a new ambulance hub is to be built near Preston after paramedic crews were given notice to quit the city's fire station.

Preston parkrun celebrated its 10th anniversary in one of the weekend’s major events and you couldn’t get enough of our old pictures of Yates’s.
