Demolition work is scheduled to start today. A second fire in Preston city centre in less that 24 hours saw smoke billowing from the former Odeon Cinema on Church Street. A fire brigade spokesman said the fire is being treated as suspicious. Elsewhere, we reported how a new ambulance hub is to be built near Preston after paramedic crews were given notice to quit the city's fire station.
