Hey gang,

I recently celebrated two years in Dubai (happy anniversary to me), and I think I might have just become a fully-fledged Dubai-er.

Dubai-er? Dubaian? We’ll work on the name another time.

Reflecting on my last 730 days here has made me realise I have definitely picked up some Dubai traits.

Words like yalla and khalas are slipping into my every day chit-chat, I can name every metro station on the red line by heart (I'm working on green), I’ve ticked off every iconic brunch going and I've become seriously used to getting most things delivered to my front door.

But how do I really know I’ve adjusted to life in Dubai?

Despite growing up battling the British weather, I’ve caught myself wearing a jacket in 20-something temperatures (Scotland might disown me after this one).

So this weekend, I’m marking the Big Two with a trip out to one of the city’s *stunning* desert cafes, taking a stroll around the Sikka Art and Design Festival and ending with a celebratory dinner at one of these underrated spots that isn't flooded with tourists (besides, I'm not one anymore).

So, here’s to many more years of bringing you all the best this city has to offer.
