Hello, Monday lunchtime is when we round up some of the stories you might have missed at the weekend. The cousin of Morecambe boxer Tyson Fury has been stabbed to death in what police called a “senseless” and “unplanned” attack. In a social media post on Sunday, the heavyweight boxing champion said his cousin Rico Burton was “stabbed in the neck” and called on the Government to “bring higher sentencing for knife crime”. Fury said those who carried knives were “idiots”. It came after Fury had hit the boxing headlines for calling out Oleksandr Usyk following the Ukrainian’s win over Anthony Joshua on Saturday night. The pair are now set to meet in a mega-money fight later this year. We’ve also got the best of PNE’s draw with Watford as Ryan Lowe’s men played out another encouraging 0-0 draw. Elsewhere, a former police officer has pleaded guilty to making and possessing indecent images of children over a 10-year period and a 42-year-old man who robbed a Lancashire shop at knifepoint has been jailed for six-and-a-half years.
