U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese Vice Premier Liu He on Jan. 15 signed the Phase 1 agreement in the East Room of the White House, with over 200 onlookers including Cabinet members, lawmakers, ambassadors and business officials. Depending on who is assessing it, the accord is being labeled a landmark or a first step. “Far beyond this deal, it’s going to lead to even more world peace.
