Disney will give a $1,000 bonus to 125,000 full- and part-time employees. The company will also spend $50 million to launch a higher education initiative that assists hourly employees with tuition.

Guidance: Wellness programs help companies manage obesity
A guidance statement from the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine said wellness programs and coverage for bariatric surgery can help manage employee obesity and reduce the economic impact obesity has on a company's bottom line. The recommendations published in the Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine were made by a multidisciplinary panel that analyzed 275 articles on ways to reduce obesity in the workplace.

New changes by the US Education Department to the gainful employment rule for career-training programs allow schools to withhold some information, including data on median earnings and whether a program is under federal review. Under the rule, failing programs could lose access to federal student aid programs.
