| #2 | | Clearleap: SVOD Isn’t Driving Cord Cutting | | | According to a new survey of 1,000 U.S. consumers from Clearleap, two-thirds of adults reported using an SVOD service. Of these, nearly half use them as much as, or more than, their pay television service. However, SVOD is not driving customers to cut the cord, according to the study. Why This Matters: The survey also found that cross-device, multiscreen viewing has become very important to the SVOD experience, and in the survey a quarter of users stated that their primary screen for watching was a tablet or smartphone. Yet the connected TV commands the most attention, with 43% of users saying it is the primary screen they use to watch SVOD content. 3 Takes: Rapid TV News | Media Post | Advanced Television |
