The Society of Nepalese Architects (SONA) Annual Convention took place on 19-20 January 2023 in Kathmandu, Nepal. A number of UIA elected officials were present at the event.

The Spanish Government has awarded a Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts to architect Patxi Mangado (Francisco Mangado Beloqui).

Chilean architect Fernando Perez Oyarzun has received the 2022 National Architecture Award.

French architect and urban planner Christian de Portzamparc received the 2022 Grand Prix d'Architecture  (Prix Charles Abella) on 11 January 2023.

Renowned Indian architect Dr Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi passed away at the age of 95. He was noted for his contributions to the evolution of architectural discourse in India and abroad.

The UIA Heritage and Cultural Identity has converted its conference initially scheduled as an in-person event  to an online event in order to avail the discussions to an international audience. Join us online on 20-22 February 2023 to discuss the achievements, performance and challenges of the World Heritage Convention.
