Government statement on persistent, mobile and toxic (PMT) substances under UK REACH

PFAS are a broad class of synthetic, fluorinated organic chemicals. They can remain in the environment for decades and can move easily through soil, water and air once in the environment. There is also a growing concern about human health risks associated with longer-term exposure to PFAS.
