Accredited TIC sector key to providing confidence in ethical AI development |
The global quality infrastructure is set to play a major role in the ethical development, governance and adoption of Artificial Intelligence solutions. This was the conclusion of a specially convened AI summit, which took place in London on 27 March 2024.
Moderated by BBC journalist Stephen Sackur and supported by an array of leading experts and contributors including Lord Jamie Lindsay; Kevin Hollinrake MP, Minister of State in the Department for Business and Trade; and the Rt. Hon. Lord Mayor of the City of London, Alderman Professor Michael Mainelli, this event brought the entire sector together for a fruitful and vibrant discussion about the challenges and opportunities ahead. |

UKAS expands its international recognition |
In the first quarter of 2024, UKAS has received confirmation of extensions to its European and international Multilateral Recognition Arrangements. These extensions increase the fields in which UKAS accreditation, and the reports/certificates issued by its accredited customers, are recognised around the world. This global recognition is a key factor in removing technical barriers to trade, and helps UK companies with the export of their goods and services. |

A fresh approach to IQIPS accreditation |
UKAS accreditation to physiological services through the Improving Quality In Physiological Services (IQIPS) standard is evolving by providing enhanced support to services that want to engage with accreditation but don't know where to start. |

An update on the accreditation of Biobanks |
