June 03, 2022 Editor's Note: The message below from one of our partners is one we believe you should take a close look at. Dear Reader,
But before the invasion, Ukraine was quietly serving as the backbone of the modern tech industry. How? It produced 90% of the US neon gas supply. Why is neon gas important? Because it’s required to make computer chips. As The Wall Street Journal notes,“The supply of neon gas … needed to make [computer chips] … comes from Ukraine.” As one market research firm writes, neon powers lasers that “etch patterns on silicon” — a critical step in chipmaking that cannot be skipped or replaced. But now that neon is cut off. Which is bad news for us. As you’ve heard, we’ve already been running out of computer chips lately. Ford, GM, and Toyota were forced to shut down factories. It’s taking months to find everyday home appliances. As The Guardian writes, the global chip shortage has reached a “crisis point.” And that was all before the war. With the world’s neon supply now gone, experts are sounding the alarm. In part because, when Russia invaded Crimea in 2014, neon was so hard to find its price skyrocketed 600% in just weeks. And I concur. I spent twenty years working in the computer chip industry as an executive at corporations like Qualcomm and NXP Semiconductors. I’ve lived and worked in “computer chip capitals” like Japan and Taiwan. I know this space as well as anyone on Earth. And I truly believe… We now sit on the edge of a tech “Supply Shock” far more severe than anything we’ve seen so far. Now is the time to prepare yourself and your wealth for what’s likely coming next. To learn more, please click here to view my recent update on this topic.
