| | Research required As a human-centered designer, I understand that research is an essential component of our daily routines, often without us realizing it. Shout out to my time at Maryland Institute College of Art's Social Design program for affirming that for me. Research drives innovation and advancement in the products and services we use every day. Everything is iterative. Whenever we use our smartphones, take medication or even turn on a light switch, we benefit from the fruits of research and improve the things we use daily with small bits of feedback. It's an often overlooked process. Even mundane tasks like choosing what to eat or wear involve research into the health benefits or environmental impacts of our choices. It is vital to appreciate and acknowledge the influence of research in our lives and the world around us.
