Uncovering and Promoting Diverse Women’s Voices of the Past
Tuesday, November 16, 2021
2:00-3:00 PM ET, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM PT

Join this discussion about the underrepresentation of women researchers and the lack of attention to their contributions across disciplines. We’ll be joined by panelists from different areas in the social sciences who will discuss efforts and difficulties often associated with surfacing women researchers and elevating their work. We’ll also hear from Thomas Dublin, founder of the Women and Social Movements database, on his project to recognize the major contributions of Black women in the suffrage movement.

Participants will come away with a deeper understanding of the importance of including every voice – including the voices of women – in research and learning, as well as strategies to develop more diverse and inclusive library collections.
