Presented on:
Thursday, March 31, 2016
1:00 p.m.–2:30 p.m. Eastern

Sponsored By
Association for Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialists (ACDIS)

Many clinical documentation improvement professionals are finding it increasingly difficult to keep consistent documentation for malnutrition due to the lack of standardized malnutrition criteria among providers and interdisciplinary teams. With no process in place for identifying malnutrition in medical records, the condition frequently goes undiagnosed, and there is a widespread lack of awareness of national best practice guidelines for the diagnosis of malnutrition in hospitals.

Receive useful direction and best practices from expert speakers Joannie Crotts, RN, BSN, CPC, and Szilvia Kovacs, MS, RD, LDN, in this 90-minute webcast. The program covers pervasiveness of malnutrition in acute care settings, effects on patients and future diagnoses, best practices for establishing plans to deal with malnutrition in a health population, and how to identify and document consistently across your entire organization.

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Establish the prevalence of malnutrition in the acute care setting and its impact on patient outcomes, LOS, readmissions, and severity of illness
  • Learn how to identify and diagnose malnutrition in the acute care patient population, and establish interventions and care plans for those patients through post-discharge
  • Identify the importance of consistency in documentation among all patient care providers through approval of hospital-wide criteria for malnutrition identification

Price: $259
