The data shows that the economy is in peril and heading for a recession, said Chris Rupkey, chief economist at MUFG in New York.

Trump signs bill for coronavirus-related benefits

President Donald Trump on Wednesday signed into law a bill that provides paid family and sick leave and other benefits to people affected by the coronavirus. Employees are immediately eligible for two weeks of paid sick leave of up to $511 per day, with affected employers being eligible for refundable tax credits.
