Israeli start-up Sonovia Ltd. engineered a unique reusable mask with antiviral properties that are guaranteed to last over a year. In the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, Sonovia applied its anti-microbial technology to a line of PPE face masks that kills bacteria and fungi on contact. Relative to its competitors, the SonoMask offers superior protection, reusability, and comfort.

Sonovia’s mask has been tested in laboratories, which successfully corroborated that its unique and permanent fabric impregnation of Zinc oxide nanoparticles have a strong anti-viral effect and have successfully eliminated over 90% of COVID-19 particles. The test emphasized that the mask works to deactivate 99.9% of viruses upon contact. The results further revealed that Sonovia's mask has a 98% success rate of stopping aerosols that are five microns and bigger in diameter.

Sonovia has been featured in renowned media outlets for its innovative masks. Recently, the company released a premium, fully adjustable modelsin four sizes that are suitable for women, men, junior, and children.

Liat Goldhammer, Sonovia’s CTO, said: At Sonovia, it is our responsibility to supply the world with our proprietary, disruptive technology. Our team is working around-the-clock because we believe our technology provides the most effective, efficient, and eco-friendly form of protection. To realize this obligation, Sonovia has a future planned IPO on Nasdaq that will expedite the companys commercialization efforts.

Once treated, the SonoMask maintains its chemical properties for over 90 industrial washing cycles. This eliminates the need to habitually buy masks or filters, and therefore reduces the environmental footprint of disposable masks. Additionally, the SonoMask can filter particles up to 5 microns in accordance with the World Health Organization guidelines in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
