| Dear John,
I’m Pendarvis Harshaw, host of Rightnowish on KQED. Our goal is to dig for local perspectives that may surprise you. Every show on KQED has covered the pandemic in one way or another, but how many have looked at it through the eyes of woman in the mortuary business? What about a doctor who works with people experiencing homelessness?
Because KQED is member-supported, journalists like me don’t have to worry about what stories will play best to the advertisers. We answer to our members. Today, in honor of Giving Tuesday, will you show your support for independent journalism?
All of our neighbors here in Northern California have their own stories. And KQED members make it possible for these stories to be told.
I am proud to work at KQED. And I’m proud of my colleagues who produce award-winning stories on shows like The California Report Magazine, The Bay, Political Breakdown and so many more. And it’s an honor to share the airwaves with NPR favorites like Morning Edition and This American Life. Thank you for being a member of our community.
Your Giving Tuesday gift today will support fearless journalism that is uniquely, deeply and unapologetically Northern California. Please donate now.
Thank you for your support.
