Even though schizophrenia is chronic and rare, treatment can provide relief from symptoms like hallucinations and delusions. Twin Cities artist Christi Furnas is living with schizophrenia and has created a graphic novel about it. We also heard from Dr. Marielle Demarais, a licensed psychologist with Hennepin Healthcare and the director of the HOPE program. She explained how schizophrenia affects people and how many can live full lives with early intervention and a multi-pronged approach to treatment. ~ Angela Davis, MPR News host | Forecast | Updraft
