Dear John,
Have you heard of the Wheel of Life?
The basis is, on a wagon wheel, you have spokes. In your life, each spoke represents a certain area of your life.
So picture this:
You are a 10/10 with your physical spoke. You go to the gym 3x a week and have the occasional Yoga class.
You are an 8/10 with your family spoke. The reason you docked yourself 2 points is because you could be spending more 1-on-1 time with the family daily.
Let’s say your other spokes are fairly similar, BUT, in mental health, you scored yourself a 4/10. You know... you just aren’t giving your mind the food it needs and you sometimes feel overwhelmed.
If you draw a circle connecting them, with one short spoke, is it gonna roll? Probably, however, it is going to take SO much extra effort. Right?
It is important to have strength in all spokes, so your wheel will roll smoothly.
SO, today, let’s talk about spoke number one. Mental Health.
My Dad, Zig Ziglar, always believed that a strong and positive mindset is the cornerstone of success.
Here are three key strategies to boost your mental well-being:
Feed Your Mind: Just like your body, your mind needs nourishment. Feed it with positive and educational content. Dedicate at least 15 minutes a day to reading or listening to something uplifting or instructive.
Positive Affirmations: Start your day with positive affirmations. Repeat empowering and optimistic statements about yourself and your abilities. Remember, Zig always said, "You are what you think you are."
Reflection and Meditation: Spend time in quiet reflection or meditation. This practice helps in clearing your mind and maintaining focus on your goals.
Remember, a healthy mind is the first step towards a balanced life.
