It was a "huge disaster for Netflix" when it was forced to issue an apology on Sunday after its service buckled under pressure due to the high demand for the live-streamed reunion episode of Love is Blind.
While Netflix rectified what it referred to as "the first-of-its-kind live reunion" by filming and immediately availing the highly-anticipated episode on Monday, we look at what actually happened.
Viewers eagerly waited for the live stream to begin at 20:00 ET on Sunday (02:00 SAST on Monday). But, 30 minutes later, the Lacheys addressed the snafu in an Instagram story.
"Everybody broke the internet to see this reunion," Vanessa said. "So, we are ready to roll. We just got to figure this out. We're getting everything to work. We are not asking any questions to anybody until we're streaming live into your living rooms, onto your phones, onto your tablets, [or] whatever you're watching on."
But, according to Buzzfeed, an extremely high amount of traffic caused too many technical issues for the episode to actually go live.
Regardless, fans took their outrage to Twitter.
