Dear friend and supporter, Recent earning reports have shed light on the increasingly dire state of Israel's economy due to the war. The Q3 reports of 2023 reveal significant struggles, particularly in the hi-tech sector. However, the full economic impact is still unfolding. With over 360,000 reservists called to duty, a vast gap has emerged in our workforce, severely impacting hundreds of companies. Small businesses have been hit hard, with about 57% reporting a serious income decline and 42% teetering on the edge of closure. We hear so many personal stories that reflect the distressing reality Israelis are now facing. One such story is from Yosefa Ben-Chaim, an evacuee whose life has been upended by the war: |
| Shavua Tov (greeting) Feed Israel, I am reaching out for help once again, as I have no other choice at this point. I work in a food production line at a factory in Be'er Tovia. Last week, we returned to work due to the ceasefire, but by the end of the week, we were informed that that work is halted again as our factory doesn't have a bomb shelter. Sadly, this means I am seeking your help to get basic products so I can cook for my children at home and also send prepared meals to my son who is serving in the IDF, unaware of my current situation. I would really appreciate any help you can offer. Yosefa Ben-Chaim |
