The Nutcracker Chronicles: Janine Kovac with Jane Ganahl:
Wednesday Dec 4 · 7:15 - 9:30pm
The Lost Church SF
$15

Take a break from holiday shopping and baking to celebrate a beloved ballet and a life spent in dance. Once upon a time, literary curator (and Lit Crawl SF co-director) Janine Kovac was a professional dancer. Her new memoir, The Nutcracker Chronicles, intertwines the familiar story of Clara and her prince with Janine’s own story of coming of age in dance—and eventually stepping away from the spotlight and embracing new roles of her own. Like all fairytales, Janine’s story has moments of darkness but a happy ending—whether you’re an aspiring memoirist, a recovering dancer, or a balletomane, you’ll find something to appreciate in its pages. Join us for an evening of good conversation (led by Litquake co-founder Jane Ganahl), great company, and seasonal surprises—including your own opportunity to waltz with the flowers. Doors at 6:30.
