Novel Insights Into Heart-Brain Interactions and Neurobiological Resilience

Dr. Ahmed Tawakol of Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School will present the 2023 Stephen E. Straus Lecture in the Science of Complementary Therapies on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, from noon to 1:15 p.m. ET. Dr. Tawakol will explain how neural pathways related to stress and depression result in cardiovascular diseases and how lifestyle interventions that promote neurobiological resilience can reduce cardiovascular risk. This virtual event is free and open to all, but registration is required. This lecture series is presented by NCCIH and supported by the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health with a generous gift from Bernard and Barbro Osher.

Music as Medicine: The Science and Clinical Practice

The Sound Health Initiative will present a virtual workshopDecember 14-15, 2023. The workshop will highlight recent accomplishments in advancing scientific research on music and health, develop a blueprint for the next phase of research, and further build the research community. This event is sponsored by NIH and the National Endowment for the Arts and jointly organized by NIH, the NEA, the Rene Fleming Foundation, and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

The Collaboratory has launched new website features including eight new self-paced, guided video learning modules on conducting pragmatic clinical trials. The revamped training section also includes a newly organized video library, workshops page, and indexed resources page.
