Whether you're starting from scratch or customizing a Duke-provided template, we’ll walk you through the key steps to creating a course that’s easy to navigate. You’ll learn how to create a welcoming, functional homepage; design a clear module structure using instructional design best practices; and add content to your modules so you can begin building your course right away. You’ll have dedicated time to start applying what you’ve learned to your own course site. |

Assessing Student Learning in Canvas |

This hands-on session introduces key tools in Canvas that you can use to assess student learning. Participants will learn how to create assignments, build quizzes, and effectively manage the Gradebook to view and assign grades. Designed for those new to Canvas or looking to build confidence with its assessment features, this session will provide a solid foundation for integrating assessment into your course site. You’ll also have time during the workshop to build a short draft of your first assignment and quiz, with Canvas experts available to support you. |
