| As we approach year's end, we start to see the usual round of annual summaries and reports. Many of these are excellent, but what are they telling us? Are things getting better? Are we making progress?
In this talk, we'll look at 2018 and identify highlights across a broad spectrum of issues: the trends in attack trade craft and targets; the evolution of defensive tools and controls, and the big defensive ideas on the horizon; and the increasing role that cybersecurity is playing in business, boardrooms, and in public policy.
We'll talk about the changes in behavior of the cybersecurity community, and how that will affect our ability to scale up defenses across the entire ecosystem. We'll point out the key trends and try to sort out hype from progress. We'll also take a quick look at some things to expect in 2019, some problems and shifts that might reshape the environment.
