Data Collection Strategies for Research on Teaching and Learning

There are many ways to collect data for research projects related to teaching and learning, from simple surveys to complex experiments and more. This workshop will provide an overview of common data collection strategies including using existing data, pre/post surveys, retrospectives, observations, experiments, and focus groups. Attendees will learn how to pick the right data collection method for their research goals and how to incorporate the key principles of confidentiality, privacy, and informed consent in their data collection efforts.
