Shalom, this is David with an important message. The last few years have not been kind to the poor in Israel. In 2020, data from the National Insurance Institute showed that 22.1% of the population was living in poverty, including 31.7% of the country’s children (about one in three children). These statistics have gotten significantly worse because of the pandemic. These children are hungry every day- let alone on holidays. These families are trapped in a cycle of poverty made all the more difficult to get out of in recent years. For many of these families, Feed Israel is the number one resource for sustenance. This Rosh Hashana and Sukkot, Feed Israel needs your help to keep them going. Yes, many of us around the world are feeling the pinch as prices go up. For our brethren in Israel, it’s all the more acute. Inflation is a critical issue now. Food prices have been rising at an unprecedented rate. The same basket of produce costs almost 60% more this year than last year. This spike dramatically impacts low-income families in Israel, especially those who struggle with poverty. We at FeedIsrael stand with the people of Israel. Our programs are focused on helping those who suffer the most by providing them with food, resources, and education to get through these difficult times. Join our efforts and support those who need it most. Help these children have a truly sweet new year. Your generous support will make all the difference! |
